DENTAL VENEERS

Dental veneers are thin ceramic/composite resin laminates that adhere to the outside of the teeth. Their purpose is to improve their appearance, either by changing the shape, colour or alignment of the teeth themselves.

In other words, they function as reduced thickness contact lenses. They are able to convey excellent aesthetics in a conservative manner, as they involve little or, in some cases, no tooth wear.

This treatment is minimally invasive, painless, and is personalized to each case due to all its particularities. During the preparation of the veneers in the laboratory, you will have temporary veneers made of a material adapted to the effect.

Depending on the case, the treatment can be done in two or more appointments, to be determined on the day of the evaluation of your case.

Inlays, Onlays

Inlays and onlays are commonly known as indirect restorations. They are indicated for posterior teeth (premolars and molars) when the teeth have large cavities normally resulting from decay. Or simply to replace old silver amalgam restorations, allowing them to restore their shape, natural appearance and chewing function.

These restorations are made of porcelain or tooth-coloured laboratory resin. They can be as strong as natural teeth.

In the first phase, this conservative technique consists of removing the decay or the old restoration. Then an impression is made of the prepared tooth, which is sent to the laboratory. The laboratory will make the so-called indirect restoration (inlay or onlay) in resin or porcelain. During the fabrication period, the prepared tooth will be covered with a temporary material, which will be removed at the time of cementation.

This type of restoration, in addition to the aesthetics, has several additional advantages. We mention: better adaptation, more correct anatomy and significant improvement of its physical and mechanical properties due to the fact that it is made in the laboratory and not in the mouth (absence of saliva, blood...).
