WHAT ARE DENTAL SEALANTS?

The posterior teeth have grooves that facilitate the retention of food. Tooth grooves are part of the anatomy of the occlusal surface of the posterior teeth. The fact that they are difficult to access by brushing and that they are deep, potentiate bacterial plaque and consequently the appearance of caries.

WHAT ARE DENTAL SEALANTS?

It is a short and painless procedure that does not require anesthesia. The practitioner will apply a dental sealant (protective resin) which will serve to close those spaces that make up the enamel of the teeth. The treatment is considered definitive; however, it requires a check-up every 6 months to verify its wear and tear or detachment.
