Both children and adults can benefit from orthodontic treatments.
For adults – the orthodontic treatment can start at any age, helping patients to correct malocclusions or improve the aesthetics of their teeth.

For adolescents – the majority of the patients conducting orthodontic treatment are aged 11 to 15 years old. Around the age of 12 years old, the majority, if not all the permanent teeth are present, allowing hence to assess if there are malocclusions or misalignments. This is also an appropriate age in terms of treatment response – at this age the metabolism is accelerated, influencing positively the treatment duration.

For children – The American Orthodontics Association recommends that a child’s 1st orthodontic assessment is done around the age of 7. Although not all the children will need orthodontic treatment, early-stage assessment can uncover issues which can be addressed before all teeth are erupted.
