N°1: Brushing only in the morning
It is crucial to brush your teeth before going to sleep. Brushing your teeth before bed is essential for maintaining good oral hygiene and preventing dental problems. It helps to remove plaque, bacteria, and food particles that have accumulated throughout the day, reducing the risk of cavities, gum disease, and bad breath.
N°2: Not brushing for long enough
Brush your teeth minimum twice per day, for at least 2 minutes per session. Many people rush through brushing, not giving enough time for the toothpaste to effec-tively clean their teeth. Dentists recommend brushing for at least two minutes each time to ensure all surfaces of the teeth are cleaned thoroughly.
N°3: Using the same toothbrush for too long
Don’t let your toothbrush get old, change it every 3 months. Over time, toothbrush bristles can become worn and less effective at cleaning your teeth. Replace your toothbrush (or toothbrush head, if you use an electric toothbrush) every 3-4 months or sooner if the bristles start to fray.
N°4: Brushing too hard
Be gentle with your teeth, rubbing your teeth with too much pressure, will not clean them better. Brushing with too much force can damage tooth enamel and irritate the gums. Use gen-tle, circular motions rather than vigorous scrubbing.
N°5: Not brushing your tongue
To improve your breath and reduce the nomber of germs in your mouth, use a tongue scraper. The tongue's rough surface can harbor bacteria, food particles, and dead cells, leading to bad breath (halitosis) and potential oral health issues. Cleaning your tongue helps re-move this buildup, reducing the number of bacteria in your mouth. It can also enhance your sense of taste by removing the buildup that can block taste buds.
